The main profile of our Public Foundation is environmental and nature protection. As part of nature protection activities, we manage grassland habitats. In the process, we graze native animals, and we harvest all meadow hay for winter feed, compacting it into round bales. We also pack the bales in plastic nets, and in shrink wrap when making hay. After use, the nets and foil create a large mass of loose plastic waste, which cannot be transported economically to long distance. With the help of compaction, the possible drifting of plastic waste by the wind can be prevented, it can be stored in an orderly manner, then transported, and recycled if necessary and possible.
Work processes:
Unpacking hay and straw bales for feeding;
Collecting the bale net and foil, placing them in a temporary storage area;
Compressing the plastic waste with a baling machine;
Placing the bales in the storage area of the farm;
Transporting the bales from the livestock farm when the transportable quantity is collected.
The Public Foundation also considers it a task to shape the environmentally friendly attitude of farmers. As part of this, we hold regular open days, on which occasions we can also demonstrate the operation and usefulness of the baling machine purchased with the support of the Ministry of Energy Management, as currently a significant proportion of farmers have switched from string hay baling to net hay baling, thus increasing the amount of waste. The reason for this is that the quality of the bale is more sustainable and it is also easier to move. The question is how other farmers handle this waste, but with the help of the purchased waste baling machine we can show an example of professional waste management and its economical treatment.
We provide the opportunity to see the operation of the waste baling machine at the following times:
2026.05.18. 08:00-09:00
2026.06.09. 08:00-09:00
